Portal
modernization

Lead design and modernization efforts for the MaaS360 admin portal. Modernization of Device inventory and Portal Notification.

MaaS360 being an MDM offering, Device inventory is the most frequently used workflow. Admin can enroll new devices, manage existing devices and perform timely actions to maintain compliance posture of the devices through the Device inventory workflow.

The goal of the Device modernization project was to present a simplified view of device inventory so monitoring devices compliance status is a seamless job for the admin. The admin can personalize the device list & predict quick actions.

This was one of the first modernization projects proposed in the modernization roadmap.

CUSTOMISATION

ALERT TILES

1.

Customizable alert tiles were created to deliver exactly what users are looking for. They can set filter criteria and edit it anytime based on their use case, and the corresponding alerts will appear on the Device Dashboard.

These alert tiles can be "starred" or marked as favorites, so they also appear on the homepage along with the Device Dashboard—allowing users to see them as soon as they log in, without navigating to the Devices section.

By default, we provide a couple of alert tiles based on the most commonly used scenarios by customers. Users can either duplicate and modify the criteria to create a new tile or build one from scratch. These tiles can be deleted at any time.

WISHLIST

2.

The watchlist is a set of high‑priority users who may or may not have associated risks, but are important for admins to monitor from a business standpoint. Along with the username, we display associated devices, their risk status, and recommended actions. Admins can freely edit the watchlist and can navigate to the full list of users at any time by clicking ‘View More’

DATA MADE EASY

1.

PRE FILTERED

We saved admins significant time and effort by analyzing filter behavior in the legacy product. Using insights from frequently used filters across different admin types, we introduced pre‑analyzed data on the dashboard for key use cases such as platform‑wise OS breakdown, device threat overview, and device ownership categorized by platform. This data visualization approach made it easier for admins to directly jump to high‑priority actions by clicking on the pre‑analyzed insights.

2.

PRE ANALYSED

We also developed several pre‑analyzed visualizations that present insights directly to users, helping them save investigation time and make informed decisions. These visualizations also reduce the learning curve for new users by simplifying complex analysis into easy‑to‑consume views
